Mark Davies

Principal, Tax Consulting

Mark joined WHK as a Tax Manager in 2002 after leaving PricewaterhouseCoopers to move to Nelson.  Since then he has worked closely with Kevin Rae to manage the Firm's Specialist Tax Consulting team. He was promoted to Associate Principal in March 2007.

Mark holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration from Victoria University (Wellington) 1990.He also qualified as a Chartered Accountant (NZICA) in 1993.

Mark has in excess of 18 years' tax experience, the majority involving tax consulting and advisory services connected with corporate groups and multiple-entity structures. He also has significant specialist experience in advising on large transactions, both domestic and cross-border, structuring and restructuring of group ownership and functions, asset protection and asset/estate planning, and management of IRD audits.

His primary specialisation is in complex tax problem solving, providing effective and practical solutions to corporate and family group taxation and asset planning issues, international and trust taxation issues, taxation implications of land transactions, and effective profit repatriation/distribution strategies.

Mark was the New Zealand representative on the Crowe Horwath Asia-Pacific Transfer Pricing Group.

His community involvement includes participation in the Whakatu Rotary Club.
