Murray became a principal of Ward Wilson (now WHK) in 1991 and has over 30 years' expereience in accounting and business advisory services.

Murray's areas of expertise include rural, small and medium size businesses, and advising Maori organisations.
Murray has experience in investigating business proposals, negotiating purchases and business restructuring. He also acts as adviser to a number of Ngai Tahu organisations.
A fifth generation Southlander, Murray is a former chair of the Southland branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
